Fly Like An Ostrich

Finally, my first day of freedom and I've got two more glorius weeks until the Fall Semester begins! Gosh! I'm so excited! What shall I do? Borrow a hundred books from the library and read day and night? Make Kachchi Biriyani from scratch? Shop? Write those handwritten letters I've been meaning to write for a few years now? Finally put all my music together in an organised fashion? Watch all those classic movies that I haven't yet? Kick back with my pals? What, Oh What shall I do?!

I'll tell you what. I shall go to New Jersey. I shall spend my two weeks of seemingly glorius freedom by trudging through 75% of the day alone, in a friendless, alienating, Patel-town. Yup, that's what Ipshi does when she goes on a vacation. Apart from spending "quality time" with my folks after they're home from a long day at work, which usually entails watching a movie, or just addafying, I hate going to that godforsaken place. Bleh :(

Atleast I've convinced them not to drag me to the gazillion dawats where all the Aunties and Uncles will remind me the futility of being an English major and the importance of money. Then some of the Aunties will invariably tell me how to do things. What the hell is it with Bangali people and giving Gan (advice) even if it's not asked for? Why the hell can't we talk about music, or life, or the frikkin weather even? Argh.

Sorry, *ehem* I digress.

Anyway, I was supposed to leave for NJ on Saturday, but it seems Ustadji has a concert in St. Louis, MO, on the same day and given the possibility of going on roadtrip with Ustadji, I'm seriously considering cancelling my ticket (pay a bloody $ 150 for it!) and leaving on Tuesday instead. A couple of considerations, other than the money factor which is a big one, are still confusing the hell out of me. I guess we'll see what I decide at the last moment.

Sims is apparently coming over tonight, although I refuse to hold her to her promise until she's actually knocking on my door (and she knows it too :D), so it's going to be a lot of fun! I should really clean up my room.
